Twenty years ago, however, she discovered her happiest identity as a full-time hot glass sculptor, instructor, and proprietor of her own studio, Expressive Glass.

The Rose

Alan “Jess” Jeskewitz celebrates his love of flowers, especially roses, in this tutorial that demonstrates the artist’s techniques for creating the individual rose petals with colored stringer. The petals are then layered to form the complete flower and clear wrapped. Gentle heating and shaping opens the flower and exposes the layers.

Twice Electroformed Enameled Components
Text and Demonstration by Terry Henry
Terry Henry, best known for her electroforming work, offers techniques for electroforming organic leaves, which are first dipped in non-water soluble lacquer and allowed to dry. After being coated with conductive paint, the leaves are then processed twice in an electroforming bath. Tips are offered for correctly setting and reading the rectifier.

The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) announced Helen Lee and Joyce J. Scott as the 47th and 48th artists to participate in the Museum’s Guest Artist Pavilion Project (GAPP) program. Each artist will be encouraged to develop innovative glass art techniques, after which they will give a free lecture at TMA.

The Pipe Classic XIV, the latest edition of the annual competition sponsored by Bern Gallery, featured ten flameworking artists competing against the clock and each other. Third Place went to Kurt B, second place was awarded to LaceFace, and Certo was named the newest Pipe Classic champion.
